Temple Grange Partners appoints anti-money laundering expert Barry Koch as a Senior Consultant

16 May 2018, London

Temple Grange Partners (“Temple Grange”), an innovative risk, regulatory and compliance consultancy firm, is pleased to announce that Barry Koch has joined as a Senior Consultant and will be based in New York.

Barry is a recognised expert in the field of anti-money laundering compliance and risk management. For more than 20 years, he has designed, implemented and managed compliance programmes and related technology solutions for some of the world’s largest and best known financial institutions.

Barry brings with him a wealth of experience, and developed credibility and trust with regulators and law enforcement while leading compliance enhancement and remediation projects, helping a number of financial institutions meet their commitments under Written Agreements and regulatory proceedings.

Most recently, Barry served as an Assistant District Attorney and Counsel to the Investigation Division in the New York County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to that he was the Chief Compliance Officer of Western Union, and before that was a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase, where he was the legal counsel for JPMorgan’s global anti-money laundering compliance programme, handling issues related to complex criminal investigations, suspicious activity reporting and transaction monitoring, and subpoena compliance. For six years, he was also the Global Head of Anti-Money Laundering at American Express.  He has deep experience providing Expert Witness, independent testing, and advisory services to governments, financial institutions, private equity firms, family wealth offices and law firms.

Commenting on his appointment, Barry Koch said:

“I’m pleased to join Temple Grange Partners, a company which is perfectly set up to help firms navigate the ever-increasing scope of regulatory regimes.  Having helped clients with their compliance programmes with regulators and law enforcement officials for many years, I experienced first-hand significant changes in the regulatory landscape, driving in turn the need for agility and innovation in the way that compliance consultancy and support is structured and delivered. Temple Grange Partners has understood these changes and I am delighted to be part of their team.”

Eoin O’Shea, Founder and Chief Executive of Temple Grange Partners, commented:

“We’re honoured to welcome Barry to Temple Grange Partners. Barry enjoys a stellar reputation with regulators and has worked with some of the world’s leading firms and on the most high-profile cases. Given his rich understanding of both sides of the equation and profound appreciation for the increasingly globalised nature of regulatory, risk, and compliance, Barry will be an enormous asset to Temple Grange Partners. I look forward to working with Barry as we continue to grow our business.”
